NOTES:
a good clear audio taken from the front row. possible loud bass during some of the bigger numbers, because I could feel those in my chest. some poorly behaved children out past their bedtime around us, though I don't believe that comes through the audio at all. pardon the occasional sound of ice/chair creaking/jacket rustling. another fun jukebox musical where the plot doesn't matter at all and is merely a vehicle for some incredible singers. Kim Onah and Tiernan Tunnicliffe are stand-outs.

NOTES:
I'm apparently easily swayed by biopic musicals with lots of big flashy numbers - it's not deep, cerebral content, but it's just fun, man. Robyn Hurder is a legend; Forever in Blue Jeans was a religious experience for me. however, the audience was out of control: I'm not convinced half the old women knew they were at a Broadway show and not an actual Neil Diamond concert (not to mention what they did to poor Nick Fradiani at stage door...) and you might be able to hear me let out an 'oh no' when I realized Sweet Caroline was starting at the end of Act 1. lots of singing along. I guess that's the drawback to these biopic musicals with lots of big flashy numbers.

recorded from the first row in left orchestra, literally right next to the Narrator's podium, which was pretty cool. What can I say about this show that hasn't already been said? This cast is so good that it's almost unreal, the audience was incredibly enthusiastic, the laughter and applause was raucous and Kennedy Kanagawa made me emotional over a giant cow puppet. What more can you want? It seems criminal that this production is only limited to 8 weeks. All in all, a good afternoon at the St. James Theatre.

recorded from the same seat I was in for my first audio, because I'm nothing if not consistent. I came back to try and see Gavin Creel and was not disappointed. Mary Kate Moore did her best, she's a very good singer, but didn't seem to have the same comedy chops that Bareilles has. Still, an excellent way to spend a Friday night. Includes a bows video this time: pardon the moments where all I get are knees and feet, I was a tad to close to some of them. Kennedy hammed it up with Milky White at my camera, which really just made my week.

First night at the Kennedy Center! man, everyone is hyped, this crowd is wild, lots of applause and laughter. Jason takes over as the Baker for Act 2 & Sam Simahk takes his place as Rapunzel's Prince (whom Gavin cleverly noted 'looked different' prior to the reprise of Agony). the women behind us made a number of unwanted comments, the women next to me had possibly the loudest laugh in the building and there is the occasional creaky chair and shuffling around. a little kid got quite upset during "No More" and you can hear them crying for a moment. well worth trekking around DC on quite possibly the hottest February day ever.

recorded from the orchestra. funny, heartbreaking, what more can you want from a show. lots and lots of sniffles can be heard toward the end of the show, to no one's surprise, I'm sure. Joy Woods is a national treasure, thank you, and Ryan Vasquez was a pleasant surprise. there is an irritatingly loud crinkling/crackling noise throughout act I that I've no idea where it came from. probably our annoying seat neighbors - we moved for act II and the noise is gone.
